If you are interested in showing dogs in conformation, please go to shows and introduce yourself to breeders and handlers, AFTER they are done showing. Often before entering the ring, handlers are stressed and too busy to really chat. Catching them after the show, congratulating them, they are more relaxed and able to help direct you. This is an excellent opportunity of anyone that would like to become a handler. You will learn what actually goes on behind the scenes and the work that must be done to present the dogs at shows. Handling is a lot more than just showing up at a show and presenting your dog.
